Relationship Therapy
It can be incredibly distressing and isolating when we are in conflict with our loved ones. Sometimes it can feel like we are speaking different languages. We desperately want to understand each other but we can’t seem to get past certain issues. I can help you work together to step outside of your conflicts and see where things are getting lost.
When we get into conflict it can often feel like it’s impossible to get out, even if we have resolved the issue or have, in theory, moved past things. Getting stuck in those old resentments can really begin to wear on our relationships, and having someone bear witness and provide helpful and practical interventions can allow the relationship to feel lighter and more capable of moving forward.
I work with people who are looking to move forward and want to see what they can do. I see seeking out relationship therapy as a testament to their care and attention to the relationship. It can be challenging to share these parts of ourselves, but I work with you to create an open environment where you can relearn the things you love about each other. Online relationship therapy allows you to slow down these conflicts, and really hear each other.
I can help you work out real world interventions, shifts and options when those conflicts do arise. I believe conflict is part of relationships, but what we can work on is how we manage that conflict in a safe, caring and compassionate way to ourselves and each other. It’s all about learning what works for the relationship, and how you both want to move forward.
I work with romantic partners who want to work on their relationship, or are in the process of de-escalating, as well as friends, housemates and family members who are struggling to communicate. I provide space for all types of relationships, with particular care for LGBTQ+ and non-monogamous partners.
